Road 13 Vineyards Named Best Winery in BC and Top 10 in Canada at National Wine Awards
Road 13 Vineyards made a spectacular showing at Wine Align's 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada. The Oliver-based winery brought home a platinum win amongst the thirteen medals awarded and the titles of #1 Winery in British Columbia and Top 10 Wineries in Canada. Road 13 Vineyards is the only winery in Canada to win platinum while also securing a spot in the national top ten for five consecutive years. Road 13 boasts eight platinum medal wins since their induction into the awards in 2013 - double that of any competing winery across the nation.
This year marked the largest showing with 1,700 entries from 242 different wineries entered in the National Wine Awards of Canada. Road 13 Vineyard was awarded platinum for the 2014 Similkameen Collective GSM - a red blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Twelve additional medals were awarded to wines within the Road 13 Vineyards portfolio of red, white, sparkling and rosé wines including three gold, three silver and six bronze. "We are very proud to have been recognized for the ninth year in a row as one of the Top 10 Wineries in Canada and are thrilled to be crowned the #1 Winery in BC," says General Manager, Joe Luckhurst. "This wouldn't be possible without all the efforts of our exceptional composition of winemakers, the cellar team, vineyard staff and the many people who have made this dream possible since we began in 2003. With a special tribute to our terroir - the "dirt" that defines and drives the incredible wines we are able to create."
