Fit February: Challenge #1
January turned out to be a bit of a transitional month for me. I was super ill since New Year's day and it basically took me the entire month to recover. Although I haven't been as productive as I hoped to be, I used this time to get plenty of rest, adjust to a cleaner diet, and fight ALL the germs. Maybe this worked out for the best if I'm going to incorporate a fitness routine into my schedule, the gym seems to be a little less chaotic during the remaining months of the year.
Traditionally, I'd post my annual list of New Year's resolutions (that never last) but I'm switching things up this year — I'm determined to make everyday count! After reflecting on 2016, I realized that I'm usually at my best when I give something new a try or when I push myself to stick to a routine. So I decided to introduce weekly challenges to help me amp up my workout routine, healthier eating habits, and to keep my goals going strong ALL year long. For February, here are my next 4 weeks of challenges:
- Week 1: Work out 5 days a week
- Week 2: Saying NOPE to dairy
- Week 3: Take at least 10,000 steps a day for a week
- Week 4: Nix Processed foods & white sugar
Essentially, I've incorporated two fitness goals and two diet improvements — the goal is to build on each of these challenges and switch every two weeks. I figured that once I get my body moving, I'd naturally want to eat a bit healthier so all the work doesn't go to waste.
Having said that, it's always more motivational to have a partner in crime so I'd like to invite you all to join me! Whether you have a gym membership or plan on doing a little routine at home, simply moving and getting your blood pumping is key. Together, let's build up the endurance to make working out a regular habit. The challenge starts this Sunday, February 5th, 2017.
Will you be keeping up with my Fitness February?
